Metrapanel Construction System

This innovative building system meets or exceeds all requirements of the NZ3604 building code.

The Metrapanel system consists of 36 mm solid panel sheets measuring up to 7.3 metres by 2.450 metres.· The system provides less jointing than conventional timber framed and plasterboard buildings.· Owners get the advantage of smooth, strong walls and less internal cracking.· No gib popping and greater impact resistance, therefore, they are more durable.· These homes are ideally suited to rental accommodation and holiday homes.

Timber Frame / Metrapanel Construction System

This construction system incorporates the dual benefits of the 36 mm solid wood Metrapanel wall panels and 25 mm sold wood Metrapanel ceiling sheets, with conventional timber frame internal walls, with 10·mm gibboard.

This combination system provides greater flexibility with the placement of interior insulation and electrical and plumbing reticulation.·

All our transportable homes are built on site within a controlled environment by experienced qualified builders.·

Although we have a wide range of standard plans, these often act as discussion starters to enable prospective clients to customise the final design to suit their specific requirements.

Specifically engineered

Laing Homes engage a Consulting Structural Engineer to undertake a comprehensive engineering review for each new transportable home.  The scope of this review typically involves the design of:-
-  roof lintels
-  walls
-  wall subfloor bracing
-  subfloor framing

Our standard design specification for each of our new transportable homes comply with, very high wind zones, open ground snow loading of 2.6kpa and Earthquake Zone A.  Where site specific requirements require a higher specification, our Structural Engineer will design your new transportable home to meet these site requirements.

Flashman - Window flashing system

Laing Homes is pleased to announce it is now using Flashman window flashing system as an option.  Flashman use modern material's and innovative design based on old fashioned  mechanical flashing principles (not sealants)  to provide you with a dry healthy durable home.

Flashman have invented a highly innovative, NZ owned, BRANZ Appraised, complete aluminium window and door flashing system which was independently tested in hurricane conditions and is installed only by Flashman Installers. 50% of leaks in leaky buildings occur at window and door openings. Flashman eliminates these potential leaks and provides 10 year Installation and 15 year Product Warranties. Suits all cladding types including brick.

The Flashman Flashing System has been specified on major leaking home remediation projects throughout NZ and is increasingly specified for new residential and commercial work including high rise buildings.
