Heating - Laing Homes are fitted with a Fujitsu high efficiency, variable speed drive heat pump. Supplementary heating is provided with a 3kW electric wall heater.  A thermostat controlled heat transfer kit is fitted to allow a consistent temperature throughout the home.

• Insulation - All of our homes comply with the new H1 building code which defines the overall thermal performance of the home.  In the ceiling we use R3.6 insulation, which exceeds the minimum insulation levels, required by the code. We are currently looking for ways to improve the level of the wall insulation.
• Lights - All homes are fitted with Compact Fluorescent Lights.  These lights use 80% less electricity than standard bulbs and last 8-10 times longer.
• Cylinder wrap - Whilst all homes are fitted with A Grade electric hot water cylinders we also choose to fit cylinder wraps.  These have been proven to economically reduce the standing heat loss even on the most modern cylinders.
