When we select materials for our homes we need to consider a number of factors including cost, performance and sustainability. We are always looking for new materials that we can use that meet these criteria.

• Paint - Laing Homes uses Environmental Choice accredited Resene Paints. These paints are low in VOC's (Volatile Organic Compounds).
• Windows - Laing Homes uses double-glazing windows in all its new homes. These windows are fitted with passive ventilators to comply with BRANZ recommended room ventilation rates. Customers can choose options, which will further improve the thermal performance of the windows. 
•  Timber - A range of timbers are used on the home.  The ceiling trusses are made from NZ Oregon.  The frames and studs from plantation grown NZ Pinus Radiata. Where possible we source FSC timber.
