Myles Laing
A 19-year veteran of construction, Myles started his journey at age 13, learning all aspects of the trade, starting as a part-time cleaner, through to labourer and an apprenticeship with one of Christchurch’s most prestigious architectural builders. Myles’ passion for building and commitment to excellence ensure clients receive outstanding service and a high-quality home.
Interests: Family time, cars, barbecues and lawns
Grant Laing
With over 50 years in the industry, the last 40 of which with Laing Properties, Grant brings a depth of knowledge, experience and success that very few can match.
Work-life balance is key to his story, with family forefront in his thoughts. When he is not spending time with family, or in the office with the Laing team, you may find him at the front of our offices, maintaining the grounds and keeping weeds at bay!
Interests: Socialising with family and friends, gardening and a good book
Jenny Henricksen
Since 2012, Jenny has been the driving force behind the scenes, ensuring business operations run smoothly, overseeing finance, HR, sales and administration.
She enjoys the variety of work and the new challenges each day can bring, finding solutions and problem solving.
Interests: Live music & sports, houseplants, cooking and being a “Cat Lady”
Ashly Cant
Joining Laing Properties in 2015, Ash has over 20 years experience in the construction field, completing a variety of builds including motels, apartments, retirement residences and unique architectural homes. He enjoys traveling to all the different house build locations and bringing clients’ visions to reality, whilst guiding them along the process.
Interests: Hiking, boating and pug life!
Dan Reid
The newest member of the Laing Properties family, Dan brings with him over 15 years of experience in the construction industry. Starting as a builder, then foreman, he moved into project management and beyond, where his leadership skills took him to senior management roles, before taking his next career steps with Laing Properties.
Interests: He’s a rugby-playing, power-lifting, home-renovating family man, who loves spending time with his kids and his wife…his now fellow Laing colleague Grace!
Grace Reid
Grace’s passion for property development, including home renovations, property investment and building her own home, has made her an integral part of the Laing team and valuable resource for her clients. She loves finding you the right solution for your project, to help you achieve the goals that sparked the initial idea in the first place. Her love of interior design and design innovation ensure an productive and enjoyable process, to find the ideal solution together.
Interests: Quality time with her young family, coffee catch-ups with the girls, netball
Kelsie Parish
Kelsie brings 10 years of experience in hospitality, where she developed a strong focus on excellent customer service, ensuring every client’s needs are met. She joined Genius Homes in 2023, starting in Sales Support, and quickly advanced to her current role as Sales Consultant under the new ownership of Laing Properties, where she enjoys helping clients find the best solutions for their dream homes.
Interests: Quality time with friends, baking, a good cup of coffee, and reading
Julian Win
Julian joined the Laing team in 2017. With bringing over 16 years in the construction industry, he’s completed a variety of builds including apartments, retirement units, and architectural homes. Julian is focused on making sure your build is running smoothly and on time and providing you with updates through the building process.
Interests: Off-road driving, hitting the gym, camping and time with the kids
Ben Tranter
In 2025, Ben celebrated his 10th year with Laing Properties, joining straight out of school as an apprentice and is now our newest Project Manager. His passion for the industry and dedication to his clients is reflected in the multitude of work he’s completed from transportable homes to apartment complexes.
Interests: Quality family time, as well as a round of golf, road-biking and home reno projects
Daniel Villalba
Daniel is an experienced and detail-focused Architectural Designer with a background spanning architectural design, truss detailing, and structural planning.
From a very early age, Daniel has been fascinated about design and architecture. Being able to use his creativity and design skills is the most enjoyable part of his role.
Interests: Outdoor activities, art, photography, socialising with friends
Nathan Ji
Throughout his 10-year career as a quantity surveyor, Nathan has worked on a variety of projects including architectural homes, motels, apartments and retirement villages. He works with clients to ensure their dream build fits within their budget, creating great relationships with our build partners.
Interests: Movies, music and travel
Simi Seenu
Simi is a part of our Quantity Surveying team. Her role involves creating great relationships with our suppliers. She is always looking at innovative ways to make our clients dream build ideas fit with in their budget.
Interests: Family time, travelling, having fun with friends.
Kimilla Drummond
Kimilla is part of our Construction team, working closely with clients and builders, bridging the gap to ensure high levels of communication. to support changes and finalisations in the decision making process during construction.
Kimilla also manages the documentation needed from contractors and liaises with local councils on our clients’ behalfs to achieve Code of Compliance at the end of a build.
Interests: Church, raising her two boys, home workouts, reading
Dagi Wetter
With a background in technical solutions in Passive Fire Protection and commercial construction supply, Dagi has built a strong foundation in understanding how projects come together behind the scenes. Now, as Second-hand & Relocation Administrator, she keeps things running smoothly, supporting clients and the team with her organised, proactive approach and eye for detail.
Interests: Jet boating, photography, plane spotting and exploring the outdoors with her dog, Frank.
Jane van Olphen
Jane’s primary role involves processing creditor and debtor invoices, but very quickly has become the Laing team’s ‘go-to’ person. You can always rely on Jane to find a solution. She’s always happy to help, greatly enjoying helping our clients and her colleagues.
Interests: Family, being a foodie and a “Swiftie”
Michelle Garrett
If you visit our offices or give us a call, you’ll be greeted by the welcoming Michelle. With a long career in Administration, she has developed a strong attention to detail and superb organisational skills.
The good banter which comes with being part of the Laing team, as well as enjoying a laugh with her colleagues and our clients, are just some of the things Michelle loves about her role.
Interests: Car enthusiast, baking, being a cat lady
Conley Browne
Conley's marketing career started in 2009 and has worked in various roles and industries across the world, before starting his new adventure in New Zealand. He leads the marketing strategy for Laing Properties, managing both the Laing and Genius Homes brands.
He’s a big fan of design and strategy, and he loves learning new ways to connect with audiences, as well as the camaraderie which comes with being a member of the Laing team.
Interests: Running, listening and dancing to music, sci-fi (especially Star Trek), football (especially Everton) and fun with the family
