Move-In Ready means construction is complete, the home has passed final inspection and you can occupy the house immediately after signing Practical Completion and paying all required costs. We give the house a full clean and check all fixtures & fittings to make sure everything is working.

After our clients receive their keys and Code of Compliance, we will continue checking in to ensure they are are settling into their new home comfortably. We can see how the home is performing in day-to-day living, gather feedback on the handover experience, and identify any items that may need attention or follow-up.

A 2-Year Defects Period*—formally known as a Defects Liability Period (DLP)—means your builder is contractually obligated to return and fix any faulty workmanship or materials that appear within two years of the project being finished, entirely at their own expense. In New Zealand, the Building Act 2004 automatically enforces a minimum 12-month defect repair period. Laing Properties will extend that legal minimum to give you double the standard post-completion protection.
